Eating to lose fat,not muscle
There is no diet that works for everyone. There is a plan adapted to you, your schedule and your treatment, that you can still follow a year from now.

What they do
A plan made with you,in four parts.
Assesses how you really eat
Meal times, hunger, snacking and what you have already tried.
Adjusts energy and protein
To your body and your goal. Losing weight also means losing lean mass, and nutrition and strength work are what can limit it most.
112-154 g
of protein a day, 1.6 to 2.2 g per kilo while you are losing weight
A guide only: your team sets your figure, and it doesn't apply in the same way if you have kidney disease. Full calculator in the Lab (in Spanish)
Adapts the plan during treatment
If you have little appetite, nausea or constipation, what you eat and how you eat it change.
- Protein in a small volume, such as skyr-style yoghurt
- A boiled egg or fresh cheese: adds protein without filling you up
- With small portions, every meal counts
- Smaller, more frequent portions
- Eat slowly and stop as soon as you feel full
- Avoid very fatty, fried or heavily spiced meals
- Don't lie down straight after eating
- Drink enough water through the day
- Increase fibre gradually
- Walk every day: movement helps the bowel
- If it doesn't improve in a few days, get in touch
Works with your real life
With what you like and what you can buy and cook. Reviews with you what is working, and changes it when it stops working.
At lunch and at dinner.
Fish, eggs, lean meat, dairy or pulses.
Several times a week, also as a main dish.
A simple way to start, not a rule.

“The diet that works is the one you are still following a year from now. The rest is detail.”
Dr. Juan FabianiMedical directorThe Spanish GIRO guideline recommends including a dietitian-nutritionist in the team, starting from a detailed assessment of your habits and personalising the recommendations. It starts from one principle: no single pattern works for everyone.
In Spain, the recommended foundation is the Mediterranean diet.

One plan
with your doctor
What changes in your treatment is reflected in what you eat, and vice versa. Nutrition can be added in LVNG Integral and LVNG Activo and is included in LVNG Signature. If you already work with a nutritionist, we coordinate with them too.
Are you going to put me on a diet?
Not in the sense of a list of bans. We start from how you eat and what you can maintain, because what you can't maintain doesn't work.
Does it help if I'm already taking a medicine?
Yes, especially. With a small appetite it is easy to eat too little protein and lose more muscle, so the plan adapts to what you tolerate.
Who handles nutrition?
A qualified dietitian-nutritionist, coordinated with your doctor.

Live longer. Live better.
The best years of your life may still be ahead of you.
